FIVCO Area Development District, serving the five-county region

The FIVCO Area Development District was founded in 1968 and proudly serves its five-county region in many different capacities. The Board of Directors consists of 25 members from the five-county region — Boyd, Carter, Elliott, Greenup, and Lawrence Counties in Northeastern Kentucky. FIVCO’s purpose is to promote, develop and protect the economy, health, education, and general welfare and to implement projects in accordance with KRS 147A for the people of its region. FIVCO acts further in conjunction with adjoining Area Development Districts to implement programs of benefit to the Northeastern Kentucky area. The purpose of the ADD is to assist in these areas:

General Sales Distribution, paper and janitorial supply distribution

General Sales Distribution is a wholesale paper and janitorial supplier based at EastPark. General Sales started as mainly a food service supply company and has over the years expanded into food service and janitorial supplies. This has enabled the company to expand its customer base to include all types of customers ranging from restaurants, schools, health care, and industrial businesses. The company covers close to 150-mile radius of Ashland, Kentucky, which includes parts of Ohio and West Virginia. General Sales moved to EastPark May 2007. Its 80,000-square-foot facility is nearly three times its previous size and allows handling of a larger variety of inventory products.

IND-KY-OH Regional Council of Carpenters Union & Training Center

The Indiana/Kentucky/Ohio Regional Council of Carpenters represents more than 32,000 professional tradespeople in 33 locals in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and parts of West Virginia and Tennessee. A proud affiliate of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, which has a century-plus tradition of representing the best of the building trades, the council works in partnership with more than 30,000 contractors, helping them find the best possible talent for their projects. The hallmark of our regional council is three-fold: training, professionalism and partnerships for economic development.
